Unbelievably this hand crafted wooden racer, dubbed the Rennholtz runs on the power of a Bosch battery drill. The bent plywood speedster, an entrant in the HAWK Hildesheim race, came third overall though it did clock the fastest time on the day. These cars run for ten to fifteen minutes on a battery which presumably, are changed out in formula one style pit stops during the race. But it’s not the performance that we’re blown away by. The concept maybe, but this thing is a work of art, man. “The goal was to create an extraordinary vehicle powered by an e-motor,” explains project participant Jirka Robert Wolff.” A statement to which we can only reply – job done, bud.
