Cycling along 4000 kilometres along some the most difficult terrain in Africa is for the #dogs
#sean fraenkel, writer, photographer and #adventurer is making a name for himself as he takes on some unusual escapades to fulfil not only his own desire to be free but as a champion for animals with his latest effort.
The nutter, and I can call him that coz I’ve ‘adventured’ with him, is cycling along the Drakensberg from Beit Bridge to Cape Point. He is however not alone, he’s doing it with his two dogs in tow in an effort to raise awareness for #pets. PETS is the acronym for Pet Empowerment in Townships and are doing some good work.
His journey is taking him along the treacherous route documented in David Bristow’s book Riding the Dragon’s Spine. Sean is unsupported unless you count the generous people he meets along the way and self-funded but he is being bolstered by a few sponsors who have donated prizes and some equipment.
Throw them a bone
I reckon it’s a great initiative and encourage you to show support by either making a donation to the Barking Mad Charity Raffle (which could win you a lekker prize) or at least Tweet your support to @SeanFaenkel and be sure to use #barkingmadSA in the text. You can also follow him on Facebook just search for Sean Fraenkel.
The following companies have sponsored prizes for those who donate R50 via EFT.
The companies below have either sponsored #gear or prizes for the #BarkingMadSA Charity raffle. Sean asks, ‘Please show them some love by simply following them on their social networks or sharing their pages on your social profiles.’
(This event will use the following hashtag: #barkingmadsa)
Sean’s making a mark on the media landscape too which will make his sponsors very happy – check out his interview on the morning TV show Espresso…
Hey Seano, well done and good luck for the remainder, keep on keepin’ on.
